Alright guys...

I'm looking at an 06 CCSB Harley F250 Black with 102,000 firm @ $22,000

Build date 2/06

Oasis report shows:

Customer Comment: Oil Leak coming from the front top of the engine.

Tech Comments: Performance diag, electrical pinpoint tests, fuel pressure test, relative compression test, diag erp senso, reading high, R&R, also found hot side CAC leaking, R&R also, cleared codes, retested, ok at this time.

work done connection a/c duct and sensor asy egr pr vl (part# sc3z9j460B)

What does all this mean?

Labor hours 3.4 and miles on truck at this time was 97k in May 2011

My question is what could the oil leak be? Top/Front also the tech comments does not appearer to address any leaks and also says (reading high ?, R&R, also found hot side CAC leaking and R&R also)

What does all this mean?

I know the 6.0 can and will have some leaks but i just want to make sure i am not buying some truck a guy just trading in (jumping ship)!!

  1. Would you buy?
  2. Whats the truck worth $$$?
  3. What could the top/front oil leak be?
  4. What seems to be wrong with the R&R?

Thanks,

Dave

yeah dude...the cac is just the intercooler tube. it probably needs to have the boots replaced. very common source for an oil leak.

even if it wasn't the cac tube and it was a top side oil leak, those are typically easy to find and fix. just take a look in the valley and see if it's got oil in it.

So this would make the owner think there is an oil leak from the front top of motor?

The truck is in OR and I am in MN. Just want to make sure if i fly out there to buy its not something big. I dont care if its an easy or somewhat cheap fix, just dont want to have to pull the motor or something crazy.

Whats the R&R and hotside mean?

thanks

yes...there is a boot that clamps onto the compressor side of the turbo. if it splits, it'll leak quite a bit and drip into the valley, then run back down the back of the motor. I just replaced that same boot about a month ago. that being said...it could also be the front cover or a few other things but if they said cac tube, then it's likely a leaking boot.

on the other hand...just buy JJ's truck.

I am still thinking about it. I maybe moving back to IN from MN soon and it doesn't seem your truck is going anywhere. Can you PM my your cell # so i can text questions?

I'm sure its a great truck but I really want a stock one owner. I'm just really worried about the trucks past. Track, spray, lifted, drop & big wheels. From my point of view this has to be hard on most parts. I know you have a rep to keep and your not going to knowingly drop a truck on someone, but things do happen. Your truck is in the top 3 i am looking at right now.

Is there anything I could do to find out for sure, such as call the dealer the truck was looked at or the dealer that has truck now and have them take a look. Anyway to look up the owner?

What questions would you ask the dealer that has the truck(as far as oil leak goes? He said they have had the truck almost 60 days and if he lets it go for 21995 he will loss $600 on the truck, but they want to move it. Is this bs? Said 20k wont buy it. This is the Internet sales manager.

The pics seems to be clean and they haven't tried to hide anything. he sent tons of pics and full oasis and auto check report. the only thing on any of this is this oil leak thing.

Are there any oil leaks this truck could have from the top front making the truck not worth buying???

just tell em you aren't buying unless they can verify where the leak is coming from. It shouldn't be that hard for them to do
