So on my way home from camping last weekend truck broke down due to fuel leak. Dealership fixed it under extended service plan and diagnosed it as a high pressure fuel rail sensor. No problem, paid my $100 deductible and took truck. Get home from work last night and notice another fuel drip, but very slow and coming down the front of the motor, down the bumper onto the ground. I thought maybe it's just residual fuel that came out during the initial breakdown but it's definitely fresh. Truck just clicked 39k miles and is all stock except leveling kit, wheels and tires. Texted my service guy, hopefully he gets back to me asap and has a loaner so I can drop this thing off. This sucks but thank goodness for extended service plan.

So now it's round 3, but this time the leak is worse.

Dealer found no issues last time, said it was residual fuel on the frame. No problem, I picked it up and drove it. Last weekend, I noticed a slight drip when the truck was off, but figured it was still residual since we haven't gotten any rain here.

Today, wife and BIL are in the truck and we're on our way home from OCMD. About 40 miles from home, I get "Reduced Engine Power" on the dash and the raw fuel smell coming from the vents. I called ahead to Ford and dropped the truck off. As we exited, I noticed fuel immediately on my AMP step, wheels, all along the side of the truck. Fuel was noticeably dripping from under the motor. Service advisor seems to think its the fuel pump this time, said the same issue happened to his '14.

My question is, should I pursue this further with higher ups? It's the 3rd time my truck has been back for a fuel issue, and now I'm going to be out some more $$ to have the truck cleaned and detailed. It's getting frustrating and I feel like I can't trust the truck anymore. It's left me stranded once, and almost did it again.

Advice or thoughts are appreciated.

What year truck?

And why are you paying a $100 deductible? 39k miles should be covered under the factory warranty. I've had the truck in cause it died (couldn't find anything), injector replaced, and low pressure fuel pump replaced. All between 40k and 45k miles. Only thing I had to pay for was fuel filters, which it was due for anyways.

Truck is a 13 with 41k miles. Deductible is for my extended warranty.

That's what I'm saying. My fuel problems happened between 40k and 45k on my 13 that I bought used. They still covered it under the factory warranty. It was recommended to change the fuel filters after the fuel pump went bad. Otherwise, I'd have paid nothing out of pocket. There is no deductible for the standard warranty. At 41k, you shouldn't be into the extended warranty period yet. Not for fuel system problems.

That ford dealer is using the extended warranty because, they probably make more money from that company vs ford.... the 100k power train warrenty is not only for the first owner.... you should still have fords warranty.

3 year/36k miles is the standard warranty around here, but Jomax you're probably right. I'll make sure my fuel filters are changed as well if the pump is bad. I've owned the truck since new and made sure I got the extended warranty because of problems like this. Hate to say it, but I'm glad I am not the only one that had fuel issues with their truck.

Okay so stopped at dealer to get something out of my truck and asked my salesman friend about the warranty. It is 5 yr/60k on the power train, so I will have to ask the service guy on Monday why I was charged the deductible the first time when the fuel sensor should have been covered.

Got a text from my service advisor this morning that he had to order a brand new fuel rail for the truck. It will be a few days before I get it back.
