Fuel Level Data Error?

Started my truck after work today only to have this pop up on my dash. Fuel level reset to full, but there was 3/4 of a tank in it earlier. Wondering if it's just a data updating error (data update rate failure) or a sending unit failure.

prob sending unit...mine does it from time to time...not often enough for me to change it. Atleast not till I drop the tank to put the sump in and harpoon it.

on my white/orange truck it was the gauge cluster. It would randomly go to full, or would go to empty and tell me low fuel.

It went back to the actual reading after about 5 min. Hopefully it doesn't do it again.

the duramax was 99 problems in itself LOL

Little update on this, pulled up a fuel sensor voltage low code with AE. Hasn't happened again though.

Mine threw a p0460 today at the same time it dropped to E...3/4 tank in it.

Seen this at work a few times. 9 times out of 10 it was the sending unit.
