Grill refinishing

My chrome grill on my 06 6.0 has started to bubble and I would like to refinish it with plastidip or bed liner. What are some methods of removing the chrome. I was thinking sand blasting but don't really have access to one and would like to DIY it to save money.

When I painted my chrome grill I went over it various sand papers and abrasive pads to give some tooth for the paint to adhere to. You could either give that a try or take a razor blade to it and peel all of the chrome finish off. Then sand and spray.

Thanks, just found where I can get a replacement grill instead that is black for $50

I used a cutting torch. Fast passes with a low flame. Melts the glue and causes the foil to shrivel up. Then sanded the rest of the glue and painted.

Anyone know if an XL Grill will fit on a XLT with no issues?

It should as long as its an 05-07 grill
