This probably has been asked before, but I tryed to search and didn't find anything. Is there an awesome, all knowing guide that is detailed with pictures on replacing head gaskets and stud install?

There's two threads on the ORG with it. One is cab on, the other cab off. Both are pretty good. I doubt any of it carried over here!?

Nice write up, and pics, thanks. Tearing into mine in about 6 weeks to do studs and a whole bunch of other goodies. :redspotdance:. Have a couple of different write-ups now, should have an easy time of it. What does a head weigh anyway? I've read some guys got it off themselves but it was a bitch, others say it's definately a 2 person job.

Yup, 90-100lbs for a head, depending what's still bolted to it. It can be done by yourself, but I would highly recommend having a buddy help. If anything, have someone help you set them back on so you don't drop one on a gasket and damage it.

and look into an "topside creeper "

I found a topside creeper on craigslist, but it was gone when I got to it, damn.

90#'s, I can handle that. I plan on removing the intercooler, radiator and fan so I can stand in front of the block so that should help.

I'm sure I can get a buddy to come over for a beer or 4.:blitzed:

Had some delays in getting the right parts, changed some things, and it's GOD D**M hot out. Probably not getting into this until the fall now. Started out wanting 500 hp and a reliable tow rig, now I'm looking at 600 AND being able to tow 12K with it. Once I finalize my parts I'll post it up. I think with my setup I might be a guinnea pig.
