I own a 2006 F250 6.0 2wd. I will be putting 20x12 moto metals on in the next few weeks and I need to know what size tire I can run without rubbing. My truck is on stock suspension, and it is a 2wd. I currently have stock Lariat 17x9 rims with 265/70/R17. I feel as though I could fit at least 285/50/R20, but I need a few opinions. I'm currently leaning towards nitto 420s tires, but I'll also consider toyo proxies. Can I fit 305/50/20 without rub?

Thank you for any knowledge on the subject.

You will be able to fit a 305/50/20 fine. Just like Eric said you might have to raise it a hair just because you are going for a 20x12. One of my buddys is running 20x10 with 305/50/20 Nittos and he still has plenty of room to lower the truck more with out rubbing.

you most likely have to go with a heavier coil spring up front to clear with 305/50's and even have to trim at that height.
Can I fit 285/50/20 Nitto 420s on 20x12? Will that be an option if I wanna keep the same height I have now?

im not sure id go that small on a 420.. maybe someone with more experience on these tires can chime in, but a 420 isnt really rated for a diesel to begin with, so a 305 seems to be the smallest everyones been going with..

that being said idk if they even make that size in a 20" 420

edit: ill have josh collester jump in here.. hes ran similar setups.

it's hard to say on a 2wd to be honest. On my 4x4, which sits about as low as your 2wd, I have ran 20x12 w/ 305/50 420s' and now I have 20x12 w/ 285/50. I think honestly you will probably fit either of them, might have to do some minor trimming. Hard to tell on a 2wd though. I feel like they fit tires better. My 2wd 7.3 sat super low and it fit 16x10s with a full size 33x12.5 which is quite a bit bigger than a 305/50 420s. That setup did not rub at all.

Thank you for the pictures and help. That also goes for the rest of the replys I have gotten here.

I'm also open to opinions on Terra grapplers. I'd need someone to lend a hand with sizes that I could run. Have any opinions on those?

I run an AT tire on my 2wd, 305/55 20, Toyo. BUT.....my rims are only 20x9. And it rubs on passenger side at full lock to the right.

Not that much bigger. A 305/ 50 is roughly 32.8" and a 305/55 is 33.2". Just about the same width on the tires- the 55's are slightly wider.

On paper they aren't much bigger but in real life it seems 6.0 guys have more trouble fitting them especially when running a -44 wheel. I know of a few that are leveled with 305/55 on -44 offset wheels that rub

^ ill find out.. Little nervous but from the people I have talked at tire and wheel companies said I should be ok. Asked over and over again on here and could not get a definite answer. I ordered new moto metal 962's 20x12 with 305/55's last week. Should be in this week. Truck is level(has x code springs on the front and the rear has a 1.5" block)
