Checking all the coolant on my fleet before winter hits, i pop the hood on my 05 f450 6.0 and pull the deags cap. It relieved pressure as soon as i started removing the cap. Truck has sat since friday about noon. Coolant is down about 3/4 inch in the bottle. Sound like headgaskets?

no I wouldn't call HG's based off that
they hold pressure for quite a while and I see variances in the full level all the time depending on conditions

4 days is a long time to hold pressure. Wouldn't jump to HG's that quickly. Was there any white residue around the D bottle cap? A blown EGR cooler looks a lot like HG's and can eventually cause steam to build in the cylinders thru coolant leaking into the intake. Then the TTY bolts stretch and the HG's go. Hope for your wallets sake it's not HG's.

There is white crusty residue (similar in appearance to what shows up around battery terminals) around the degas cap... It aint my wallet that will pay for the hg's. Its my work truck... I just dont want to have to do em seeing as im the fleet mechanic at work here.

The white residue indicates puking due to over pressure or bad D bottle cap. First I'd try a new cap. If that doesn't work its time to pull the egr valve after the truck has been sitting with the nose slighy down on a hill over night. If its wet inside the intake when you pull the EGR valve, then you have a comprimised EGRCooler. If its dry then its probably HG's.

Mine takes about 3 hours and theres no pressure. Id put alot of money on you having blown headgaskets among a slough of other possibitys.
