Looking for opinions...

I picked up a set of 05-07 headlights for my '01. I am trying to decide between 2 options for lights in them.

The first is this kit --> CLICKY

The other option would be this --> CLICKY

I realize the 2nd option would be a lot more work (and cost more), but am I going to get a lot more light out of it? Anybody run both of these or can you tell me where to see a comparison?

Also, if I hooked up the 7 color selectable back lighting in the 2nd kit, would I have to get a "Type R" sticker for my truck?

most cars these days that have factory HID's run a projector style light for the HIDs, some state laws require that HID's be in a projector housing.

Projectors pretty much draw a straight line to where the light starts and stops in the distance, on a low beam light thats not a huge deal since its just around town ect, but on a high beam it sucks, you want as much light to shine as far out as possible and a projector wont allow that.
Alot of OEM lights that run a projector low beam run a halogen high beam that is in a standard lens

That being said i have 55w HIDs from retro in my truck and the light output is awesome, super bright, took a little bit of aiming but they are a great light made a world of difference on my truck.

Ya, I was wondering about the high beams with the projector kits. I have projectors in my Mazda 3, and they're unreal bright, but just low beams.

I'm guessing for the cost and the work I'm going to be plenty happy with the 55w kit. My lights are so bad now anything would be an improvement...

"Halo angel eyes"

I wonder how much modification to the headlight housing it would take for those projectors to sit in nicely?

Golfer did a set up on an Excursion on PSN. That's where I got the idea. A heck of a lot easier to just buy the kit. Lots of epoxy and fibreglas.
