So i got to thinking earlier about all the truck thefts and a little light bulb lit. So i had some free time so i thought i would give it a shot. So basically i put a relay inline with the starter signal wire as close to the firewall as i could and i spliced the cigaret lighter power wire and put the signal side of the relay there. So basically the cigarette lighter has to be pushed in to complete the circuit activate the relay that is on the starter signal wire. And if you use your cig lighter there is really no other affect because when its pushed in it just signals the relay and heats but it wont activate the starter unless you turn the key to start the truck which i dont think most people would do when the trucks running. And for some reason it now takes the lighter 20 seconds opposed to the 11 it use to take to heat up but i suppose thats a good thing depending on how long it takes your truck to turn over because once it heats up and pops out truck wont start, but either way i figured i would share might do someone else some good. Who would think to push in a cig lighter to start a truck. And then you park just pull it out and toss it in the door pocket.
