How do I stop this from spreading?

This had paint bubble up a while back, and it finally broke out... Is there anything I can do aside from painting the whole box?

In our experience that is only a small section of the rust, most likely its spread out a lot further under the paint but hasn't really bubbled yet.

I know it sounds weird but i spray used motor oil in those rust prone areas. Works well my 96 has over 200k and no real rust yet. Keeping it clean and touch up paint helps aswell.

Sorry there is no stopping it with out patching the bed sides and repainting. If you do patch panels make the steak pocket drains in the wheel wells bigger cause they get clogged and this happens and make sure the inside of the bed skin and shell are self etched and sealed

I thought about a flatbed I could actually use one.. but short bed flat beds look gey, thought about repainting the whole.truck, there's lots of chips and rocky mountain pin stripes...
