How would you build a bullet-proof suspension?

Just like the title states...

Im tired of having bump steer and rough ride from my current set-up. Its all stock with stock shocks, and 2.5in spacer. Im wanting info on building a pretty much bullet proof set-up.

What im thinking is...

PMF Adjustable front suspension Arms

King Coil-overs and all supporting mods to run them(I know I dont need them, but I want them)

Dual stabilizers (What brand would you run? Im thinking King)

Traction blocks and bars in the rear

Would the coil-overs and the PMF arms work together?

Feel free to add to the list or what you would do. Any more of a lift is out of the question. Im wanting to keep it under a 3in lift.

I'm with you on this. Just don't have the cash for the setup your going for. Do the adjustable arms help with the bump steer, or the coil overs? My steering is horrible and I want to tighten it up.

Im no expert by any means but I have heard that the adjustable arms do help tigthen up the steering. Once I get mine installed I will post my results for sure.

I dont have bump steer at all but I got them bc I like the steering to feel really tight.

I'd definitely like to see where this goes. I'm looking to lift mine as well, and I don't want a **** ride.

I see where this is going...Your best bet is to call a supplier like PMF,OUO,TGC etc. and tell them what your trying to acomplish.

I know I could call them, but I was wanting real world opinions on what others thought would be a good set-up.

I have no experience with the adj arms but my 06 had really bad bump steer after I lifted it 4". I bought a dual steering stabilizer from top gunz and that was the ticket. My old truck was so scary to drive down the highway I feared for my life at any speed above 50mph. I scrapped the s**ty stabilizer that came with the lift and ran the top gunz one with bilstein shocks. I tightened up the steering so much and killed 90% of the bump steer. That truck handled like a porsche. Im pondering to purchase a kit now for my 2010.

It would be nice if it could be done objectively, but maybe you didn't catch the "ouo vs pmf" thread from a week or so ago. People, including myself, got a little out of hand on it and most are avoiding it.

Basically, I think you're on the right track with what you're trying to accomplish. But I have heard that the coilovers for 2.5" lift actually limit travel more than the stock springs allow. May not be a huge thing, but it's a thought.

IMO..forget trying to bolt on a kit on stock 99-04 axles..just get '05 up axles and a quality 4 link kit..better brakes, better turn radius and overall probably cheaper by the time you sell your old axles etc...

I could really care less about the banter bs that was going on with ouo vs pmf thread. I don't care, I'm not asking who has a better product or better creative engineering. They both have excellent products.

I would custom make it all myself. Heavy wall, big link arms with some big joints(not sure of which exactly, need to do more research for a DD), coilovers and bypass, hydraulic assist steering. Something like that.
