idm issues/codes

there has been a few issues pop up lately of idm codes being intermittent or connecting issues.. i too have that issue on my 01 and for those who dont know where to start, this is a very likely spot to start with.. now i dont know if this fixed the problem 100% but it is wore and when i scraped the grime off with the back of my knife it still had a very minor layer of coating still on it.. i felt it with my thumb and could feel the small strands so i wrapped it good with black tape and then put more loom over it.

Dude, you stole my pics! Lol! I had same problem you did a while back and fixed it the same way. I also zip tied it further back to keep it away from the valve cover.

Mine wasn't nearly as bad as yours and it would really only act up on damp/wet days. So far it has been working fine.

lol.. i hear ya man.. im not 100% sure its the ussue as it wasn't eaten through like that. I'm hoping it is all thats wrong but we will see...

well, that wasn't the fix so i finally had a half hour to work on her so i did a buz and cc test on her.. cyl 2 was super weak.. and failed cct.. along with 3 and 8 but those are the typical ones that fail due to the gray cps... so i popped the vc off and sure as ***, uvch was half in and im guessing that the gp on cylinders 2 and 4 havnt worked in a long time.. ground off a quarter stuck it in there and put her back together. no more idm codes!!
