It's been asked dozens if times, but what do you guys do installing the injectors? I can't torque down top bolt and put hold down clamp over bolt with the head studs up farther than the stock bolts.

There have been 8 shorter ones on the sets I have installed. I haven't ran into this problem.

M12 x 1.75 bottoming tap with WD40 to ensure a clean hole?

I ended up "modifying" one of my inj hold down clamps too....

I've got it on good reference that it's OK to do so ;)

Ooops...sorry just read now where the machine shop installed the studs.

And I've never installed the ARPs...H11s were all the same length.

H-11s are all same length. Just leave it a lil loose and put injector in then use an open end wrench to tighten it up. Make sure it gets tightend before the bottom one.

Shorter studs were at bottom of head. He didn't know, I didn't know. Rookie mistake. Had to take injectors back out, swap studs, and now need to torqued them again.

Anybody got torque sequence?

Mine are ARP's. Directions for the ARP studs don't say anything about the shorter studs and where they go.

Pull one of the short studs. Replace with a used headbolt. Pull one of the long studs under injector hold down, replace with short stud. Pull another short stud, replace with long stud. Pull another long stud under injector hold down. Repeat until done. Pull headbolt, replace with last long stud.

Go drink a beer and contemplate the universe.
