Ok so as some of may have seen in my other thread, I keep getting an intermittent short or something that shuts down the drivers side bank of injectors. The check engine light will come on. I can hop out shake the wires and 8/10 times itll fix it right there and the light kicks off, injectors kick in and i go about my way.

A couple months ago i had to replace the male connector going into the UVCH due to the insulation basically falling off of all the wires. I butt connected them, i have gone back and removed those and fully soldered the connector to the existing wiring.

I have pulled all of the loom off and check all the wires for chaffing and can;t find any. Sometimes i can get it to do it by shaking the harness again and sometimes you can shake it all you want and it wont shut down that side.

I'm basically to the point of cutting back all of the wiring to the 42 pin connector and soldering new wires all the way to the male connector.

IT seems to be heat related. Won't happen without a trailer attached.

HELP

you dont think its the wiring in the harness? What would i look for on the valve cover gasket?

Pull the valve cover. Ohm from each pin in the outside valve cover connector to the corresponding connector. If it is anything except a dead short, you have a problem.

do you have the ohm readings i should see from the 42 pin to the male end of the connector, then into the VC harness?

It's a wire. It should be a dead short unless you have a really sensitive reading on your ohm meter.

For a sample, take a bare piece of wire about 5 feet long. measure the resistance in that piece of wire. You should get approximately the same reading on the wire on the truck.
