Haven't run my truck in over a month, 2004, 260k and after 20 minute drive to the fuel station i noticed at idle a noticeable miss. Put on the code reDer and contribution code for cylinders 1 and 3 popped up. Tried clearing several times and immediately popped up again. The oil is at end of its life and sitting awhile. Anything i can do besides opening up the wallet and getting two injectors?

Interesting that it happened after 20 minutes of driving, usually a sticky injector is more noticeable on initial start up. I suppose it can occur at anytime, though. Like said some Rev-X or AR9100 with a fresh oil change wouldn't hurt.

try rev x and an oil change.

Yea im over that.....

Imo id bite the bullet and put some new Inj in or good used ones. Last 4 trucks had rev x (6.0) try to solve Injector issues. Two had no change. One for about an hour and one for about a week. We get a lot of trucks but just hard to think all injectors are so far gone in all of them....

On a side note o guess anything is worth a try. Im going to try to get some of the ar9100 since its priced cheaper. Haven't lost faith yet....maybe who knows :priest:

Will try oil change first, truck was parked all winter because i had to go back to school, and student budget doesnt allow you to run a 6.0 lol
Might pick up few used inhectors for now , junk yard has them for 90$ piece and next yr while working again think i will do new set injectors all around and some other things while im in there

As soon as the weather gets warmer, I want to look at the feasibility of repairing or replacing spool valves, this is ridiculous all the problems we have. There has to be a better way, short of buying new injectors every time a damn spool valve sticks up on us.

I agree with this. I've tried rev-x, and other things, but the only thing I've used that made a lasting difference was adding 2 cycle oil to the fuel with each fill up. It shouldn't make a difference if spool valve stiction is the only issue, but I think these injectors stick as much in the fuel plunger when cold as the spool valve.

That's a good point you bring up. Certainly some additives wont hurt in the fuel side either. Though, if I remember right from the diesel place test, 2 stroke oil wasn't very high on the list. 2 or 5% bio diesel added to the diesel was the best. I run opti-lube XPD. My truck loves the high cholesterol WVO diet too, injector knock goes completely away. Imagine sitting at the drive thru window and being able to order food without having to shut the truck off!
