hey guys.i have a 2015 f250 in my shop. i recently just replaced all eight injectors, fuel rail sensors, hpfp, and injector return lines. my question is do i have to program the injectors. the instructions say to do so and i had to keep track of each one of the injectors that went to each cylinder on paper, but the truck runs fine and seems to have good power. any help would be awesome.

You will program the PCM with the location of each specific injector. The local Ford tech showed me and it's pretty simple. Whatever you used in the #1 spot, you type in the injector code. Do this for all cylinders,

You will get codes. I am actually surprised it is running smoothly. This is similar to just throwing a set of nozzles on and not having them flowed/balanced.

I would still take it down and have it programmed fot piece of mind. When i went to class on these they told us that some dealer had found out that if you changed 1 number either up or down 1 number they gained like 40 horse. Those bastards wouldnt tell us which one though...

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DONT DO THIS

not much my understandings are IQA are a base fuel flow characteristics of a specific injector every injector is slightly different flow rates. it is more cost effective to measure the injectors output rater than try to make them flow exactly the same. The injector quantity is entered into ecm that flow information is used as baseline to balance the engine resulting in smother running more consistent egts between cyls and most importantly lower emissions. the pcm can adjust fuel trims on each cyl based on crankshaft rotational speed "power balance" this is a learned value think of iqa as setting all injectors to zero so they are theoretically inject same amount of fuel each injection event if the iqa is wrong the pcm can learn and adjust for pretty large discrepancy in injectors this will take some time if the discrepancy is to large the pcm may flag false dtc.
