For the last couple weeks, I have been have a real hard time starting the truck first thing in the AM. When I go to start the truck, it will fire up, run like total crap for a second or 2, and then die. When I try to start it again, I have to crank it for for almost a minute before it will start. Then it runs like crap and dies again. Crank on it again, it will finally start and run fine and will start with no problems the rest of the day. Injectors, fuel pump, etc??? Seems like it is a fuel issue, but I'm not positive. No codes(checked with SCT).

A couple of things I would look at would be, FICM and the Glow plug circuit.. I would say that it is not a fuel pump issue..

First thing is to have the batteries load tested. If one is bad, replace both.

Then, and only then, you should test the FICM, I bet it's going bad. Test procedure found here: http://powerstrokenation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43705

Just need a buddy (someone to turn the key) a multi-meter, 8mm ratchet, T-20 torx on a ratchet. Simple. A couple beers wouldn't hurt either.

When you pull the little inspection cover on the FICM, if you have a 4 pin FICM, you will test the screw closest to the drivers side of the truck. If you have a 7 pin, there will be a row of 4, and a row of 3 below it. In the row of 4, test the screw that is closest to the passenger side.
