Is a delay normal?

Its an 04, I put the truck into drive from park, it takes roughly 5 seconds before the truck begins to move, it won't rev up or anything until it begins to move. Is it normal to take that long to engage into gear?

That was the first step to my 5r biting the dust last year. Checked out the trans fluid and filters yet?
