Hey y'all, I'm pretty new to these egr and def trucks, and new to the ford 6.7. I've always been a cummins or a 7.3 guy. I've searched using the search function but that didn't show up with anything, then I read back 30 pages of the threads, I got tired... So I gotta ask.

Underneath my truck the dog and the rest of the space ship is gone and there is a straight pipe in place without bungs, and all wires are tucked away.

What gets me is that my egr is still on the engine, I don't know much about it but there are still wires connected. I was told they should be unplugged since the truck is more than likely ******d since there is no *** or anything underneath. Is it possible or probable that the truck is in fact ******d but the egr is still installed and connected?

Is there a *** ****** only tune/kit? I don't have a monitor or a tuner that came with the truck. So if it is tuned I don't know by who or what tune. Assuming it's a single tune and possibly just a ****** tune. Truck isn't very smoky even at wot from a stop.

Am I stupid?

Should I just unplug all the wires on the egr and see? If the truck gets pissy when I unplug things, will it reset itself after I plug the, back in and restart the truck?

Thanks for any help y'all!

Definitely dleted. As far as the egr you could unplug it. Doubt it'll matter, most if not all dlete tuners turn it off. Someone just to lazy to pull it off.. I would try to find out where the tuner is our at least get an idea of what you're running.

get an H&S tuner and overwrite whatever is on the truck so at least you know what you have. Then get custom tunes from there.

I bet egr is turned off in the tune, no need to remove the hard parts.

How's it running? You may not want to mess with it.
There's got to be a tuner there somewhere, Or something on odb2, what is it? That's your first question.

From there you can consider different tuners, different tunes and completely removing the egr.

Thing about leaving the egr is that you'll clog it up to the point it's not usable when going back to stock. May already be too late.

The truck came ******d.It is highly doubtful, that he would BUY a *** to install on truck,if he sells the truck.

Most tuners set the egr valve off in the tune. So at the worst, it'll just warp the butterfly and ruin the egr valve. But not all tuners are equal.

I agree with tricktruck. I would seriously consider getting a custom tune regardless of what's on the truck just so I would know what tuning I had for longevity sake, towing, etc.

The truck runs like a top, it'll roast the tires from a no boost standstill, which I refuse to do.

I am honestly not worried about ever returning to stock as I can do all work myself and it doesn't have warranty. I'm really only asking because I want to get the pass through no limit egr ******.

I figured to be on the safe side I would need to return the truck to stock used tds, before reprogramming it? Or can I just go get some tunes and overwrite whatever is there and be good to go?

If the truck is tuned or ******d there should be something connected to the obdII still? People don't use those single tune load and go programmers on these trucks?

If it isn't on the odbII is there another place something might be? I have a buddy that found a pre ban plugged in h&s under his dash... I'm not that cool or lucky I bet.

That's why I suggested h&s, it will overwrite whatever is on there.
