Is The AFe Bladerunner Turbo A Re Branded GTP38R?

Just like the title says is the new AFe bladerunner turbo just a re branded GTP38R? Is their any differences between the two turbo's?

This is the only image I could find of it... If so, no its not a 38R, hell it doesnt even have a ported compressor housing.

No one has ever made a drop in as good as Garrett. Bd thruster, tn drop in, htt bbw all fall short in comparison

It's their own turbo not a rebranded Garrett.

I have the Precision drop in and i would have to say it is better than the 38r or about the same.

That turbo looks like a stocker with a bigger WG and a compressor housing with AFE's name on it.

Oh ok is a ball bearing or journal bearing? I would like to see a comparison between a 38R and this bladerunner. (Airflow wise and horsepower wise.)

Journal bearing. I don't think it will pair well with the GTP38R since its quite a bit smaller.

I got a 38R LOL and my 160/100% swamps injectors and dang that thing clears the smoke real good and makes good power.

Its pretty close, its a billet wheel though and everything specs out just about the same size wise other than the AR of the turbine housing being tighter.

So a special billet wheel in a 3" non ported housing with a .84 exhaust housing...

Special, more expensive then a 38R stock turbo.

LOL I have my stocker back on my truck...... It has lasted longer then my 38R. Screw a drop in, get a T4 or T4i setup and be done with it! Cost is higher but you have tons more options!

How long did your 38R last? What was it seeing boost wise? What was the reason for the failure?
