I just changed out my shocks and found that the little bottle jack does not lift the truck nearly enough. I followed the owners manual jack points, but I found I needed to use a foot long piece of 4 x 6 lumber under the jack. The extra 3.5 inches gave the jack enough lift. Now I carry the lumber under the back seat. BTW the Makita cordless half inch impact driver makes removing 4 wheels a snap. Love that tool with the Harbor Freight set of 3 lug nut sockets. Has anybody ever jacked their truck without something under it to raise the jack?

I've used the bottle jack a few times on my truck without a problem?

Truck didn't have a bottle jack when I got it so I need to put my hi-lift in this truck. I was looking a a new floor jack but need to know how much stroke is needed for a stock 4x4
