I am starting the search for a newer truck. What should a guy look for with a used 6.7? Any year changes or updates to be aware of?

There aren't any big changes, I think the 12's and up got an updated turbo though, it was just balanced a little better. There was also a batch of early 11's that the valves were not treated correctly that pop up every great once in a while with problems. But, with the updated turbos on the 12's people still pop them, they seem hit or miss

I don't think year is quite as much of an issue as the 6.4s or some of the other motors. There are small changes like the guy above me said, but I wouldn't turn down a cleaner nicer 11 for a 12 if that's what it came down to.

The 11 trucks and up are probably the only time in a lot of years they all seem to be without problems from the getgo..

I would stick to '12 and up, or wait for the 2015 as it seems to have some significant upgrades.

The 2011 models had some cool stuff; Like the Aluminum drive-shaft and cool poly oil pan. Here is the but, no offense, but I was not a big fan of the two tone seats. I can't figure out why they went away from that pan except for the possibility of people just not helping themselves to over tighten it.

The 2011 Job 1 trucks were the only ones with the two tone seats. They did away with the plastic pan because they would leak pretty bad.
