On my way to work this morning I was getting on the Florida Turnpike got on it pretty hard down the on ramp. After I set my cruise I noticed a loud noise coming from the engine compartment. Sounded like it was right behind the steering wheel. I stopped at the TP Plaza and checked it out. Found the steel lines next to the fuel filter on top of the valve cover where the sensors are plugged in vibrating and howling. Shut the truck off and restarted but it still is the same. Drove another 30 miles and don't see any performance issues. Has anyone else had this problem? You can see my mods below. Thanks

I have heard the loud wine before. The dealer replaced the upper fuel filter and it took care of it. Make sure the lines are shoved on it tight first, but then it may need to be replaced if there s something wrong with that crap plastic housing.

If the noise is there after the engine is off it could be a wastegate solenoid leaking vaccumm.
Is the wastegate solenoid still in place?

Yes the waste gate is still in place. Its not the plastic lines that go to the filter its the steel lines just to the front of them. The sensor is right on top of the line. 25000 miles and the filters were changed last Friday.

Why Not was correct. I changed the Napa fuel filter to a motorcraft and the noise went away. The filter was 9 days old. I'm going to cut it apart to see what happened. It was really loud and thought for sure I had damaged the fuel pump. Thanks again. Dan

Mine happened with a ford one right after if got changed too. I guess that plastic housing can get out of whack on the mold or something causing it not to seal right.

When I open or cut the bottom off it looked like the baffle at the top inside broke loose. I can't imagine they made it like that. Looks like it was moving back and forth causing the vibration. Inside was broken up quite a bit. Thanks for all the help. Dan
