My first oil change on the 6.4 coming pics

I just finished putting about 3k miles on the truck and about 5k in the past month since I've bought it so I'm ready for my first oil change on it. I've already picked up the motorcraft oil filter now I just need to decide on an oil. I'm a Mobil 1 guy so I was leaning towards the Mobil 1 turbo diesel full synthetic in 5w40. Ill be in Colorado for a few more months where the high has been barely in the 30s lately. Anything else I need to know or special tools for this? Fwiw I was planning on taking it on post and putting it on a lift to make things easier.

Nothing special as for tools. A lot of guys use Valioline PRE. Blue 5w40 diesel oil. It's good stuff!

I would 100% scoop up one of their testing kits and send a sample in to find out the current condition of your motor -

Tool wise all you need is a 19mm wrench and a 36mm socket.

Well while I was there I ran into a buddy who needed a hand on his car. I would've done it without a lift but don't have anything big enough to hold all the oil plus were not allowed to work on cars in my apartment parking lot. :/
