I have intake gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets and bolts, head gaskets, Head studs, oil, filter, coolant, metal screen for HPOP, Turbo drain tube and feed line, is there anything else that would be necessary/nice to have?

What year truck is it?

05+ you'll want the updated STC fitting if it hasn't been done, I would also do new dummy plugs and stand pipes, and of course the oil cooler rebuild.

We also have no idea what you've done already or what stuff is on the truck. I'd add a coolant filter if it's not done as well.

You are planning on having the heads checked over and decked right? A valve job wouldn't hurt either.... etc. Are you going to do a coolant flush too? Might want to pick up some restore + and some distilled water.

Well you do the flush before replacing the cooler, not after... why would you need a second one???

I'm just not a believer in flushing with the engine together. Seems every flush will go back for another cooler (or three!) or worse problems. With the engine in the truck, it is impossible to remove what the chemicals will dislodge..no matter how many times its flushed. The sediments that are freed by the chemicals were settled into areas of low flow, and hardened. Once broken free, they will be in the system for months. Unless you are able to run a 100% coolant filter (not a bypass), a flush is a bad idea.

Of course, this is just my opinion. Guys pay shops thousands every day for flushes. But I believe you are being sold the "idea" of clean, which makes you feel better, even though you are opening the door for problems. But if you can remove the engine and flush coolant passages while limiting the number of turns and connection/gasket points, you will instantly remove what is dislodged.

Hope I didn't hurt any feelings here, just my opinion. Sorry for the derail.

Well I will certainly be flushing mine, I'll let you know how it goes. Been running a coolant filter for a while now, and have a new oil cooler ready to go in. A 100% flow coolant filter surely wouldn't be able to filter fine at all.

You can get most of it if you do the flush with the block plugs out. I had a leaking heater core and bad oil cooler so i flushed it once with that in there and the plugs out. Ran It for a few days and then flushed it again with restore and the plugs out again. I then replaced the oil cooler and added a coolant filter. The first oil cooler acted like a super filter I think, because after the second flush the coolant looked wonderful. So maybe it is a bad idea to flush it. But I think its a worse idea to let the sediment go into your cooler on its own whether you flush it or not. Just my opinion.
