Need advice - rebuild or buy new 6.4

This is a hell of a first post but here goes...

Pretty sure my buddy's and I got it hot pulling my boat back from the lake. I Thought I had my defuel settings set, who knows. So now the back two cylinders are galded on the passenger side. Its an 08 with 62k. EGR/DPF deleted, intake, h&s race. Who you pull this motor and rebuild it, buy a rebuilt one from someone such as Rudys, or buy a used one? I dont have the $$ to go all out and build a 1000 HP monster. Located in western KY so used motors aren't exactly easy to come by locally.

You're "pretty sure" it got hot? Do you have gauges, or just drive it and hope?

I would rebuild it. Hone it and put some HD pistons in it.

^^WHS let me know if you want a quote we rebuild several 6.4's for these issues. We are just a state away in WV and I can freight it for you at a decent price.

Personally I would rebuild It. That's what I did when I cracked the block. Like jd said, get some HD pistons, maybe have them coated, throw in a cam if you have the funds or if you want to. Put it back together and roll with it.

Upgrade anything else you want or think you need. Or leave everything else stock.
