Clutch started to slip on me in 4th and 5th so yesterday was research day. As a tree guy she needs to pull.
What I see are tons of options and I don't wish to do it all over soon. Single mass or dual? The valeo stage 2 is my thinking as I will be going with a new turbo soon.
Links welcomed as I like to have all the pros and cons.
Many thanks
Joel

If your near stock power and plan on staying at or around stock power level or under 450HP, go with a single disk clutch. I've been happy with the clutch I have from south bend, and it is just about everything they said it would be. Before buying a south bend clutch I was thinking about going with a valair clutch because they're a bit cheaper. Your best bet is to call both valair and south bend, tell them what your going to be doing with the truck and let them give you some suggestions.

Went with a single, drove it with no loads for three days, then pulled home a load of pine logs. Feels so much nicer. The one I pulled out was still good for specs but the plastics holding the springs had crumbled, was this a common issue? Or a result of me being hard on my truck? Also curious if I could get new spring keepers and replace them. Seems a shame to toss.
