Oil filter stand pipe broke...can I still drive it?

So this is what broke. .I had to drive the truck home 4 miles but I live in Germany so it takes 2 weeks to get parts. . Can I still drive it while I'm waiting or should I Park it?

Another worry I have is. That leg that's broken getting into my motor. It should be stopped by the hpop screen right?

So it looks like if I drive it like this the motor will be getting unfiltered oil. Is there a pn for just the oil filter bypass valve ?

Hpop screen is not that strong. Wouldn't count on it.

um park it. ive broke mine too at one point and just kept the truck parked.

Park it. The HPOP screen is no stronger than wet toilet paper.

So should I pull the oil cooler and check the screen. I guess also replace the oil cooler and use the Ipr metal hpop screen. Also I if it's not on the screen then what?

I wouldn't worry about that till you need to replace the oil cooler or have start up starvation

Yep pretty much. Make sure there's no broken peices at the bottom.

I lost a piece of the oil filter tab during an oil change at a local lube joint. Drive 400 miles no problem. Coming to a stop light it does. The piece worked its way to the IPR and 1000$ later I was running again. It's a gamble.

Yea I cant afford to gamble. I already need a new oil cooler so im going to replace the cooler and use the Ipr hpop screen. I hope the piece is on the screen.

If your cooler is original, I'd pull it, check the screen and do the rebuild kit.

Ok I called three big name shop's in the USA Today and they all agreed that they would just drive the truck and see if the plastic piece even messes anything up. They said it would probably toke out the IPR if anything since the hpop would more then likely chew it up. I'm pretty comfortable with doing this I just want to get a few more opinions

Which means that it went through the screen. What good is your screen then. Pull the oil cooler.

Yes it would chew it up and send even smaller pieces in more and more places. Screw that.
