Currently letting the shop do my oil and filter changes but I'm about to start doing my own again....what do you guys recommend...Shell Rotella T6 or AmsOil Premium? I run 15W-40...also what are the best oil/fuel filters I can put on this thing? Ran Wix filter on my old gasser but not sure about diesel. I saw where they make adapters for Caterpillar oil filters but I'm thinking those 2-micron filters might cause too much restriction in oil flow/pressure.

Id give jimdawg185 a ring or message to hear what he can offer...
Although i do not have a 6.7 im going with all of his products including the oil filtration setup he recently released..
I was super impressed by what he offers after days of reading up on different oils and filtration...

Id also agree that you caint go wrong with mobile 1 if you wanted in stores oil.

Best of luck,

Can't decide between the Delvac 1300 Super or Delvac ESP....i would really like to continue using 15W-40 and the 1300 Super is the only one that offers it...

Do this! LE 8855 5W-40 with oil samples every 5000 until a baseline is established. Jim will help here. It just as cheap or cheaper than T6 in the long run.

Though, I think he's pretending to work in Europe for a few weeks. Still...call him or text. He's disturbingly passionate about lubrucation.

If you can do the LE oil, do it. If you need to buy from stores locally, run the Mobil 1. It really is better then rotella, and the 5w-40 is perfect for severe duty. (If you're tuned or tow. I consider is severe duty.

I'll second (or fifth as the case may be) the recommendation for LE. I just got my first shipment in of 8854, diff oil (704), and full torque additive. I plan to do tranny and t-case next order.

I also did a ton of research and find it tough if not impossible to beat LE products. Plus when you buy by the 5 gallon pail, it makes it cost competitive with even the lower grade, locally available synthetics including shipping. Shipping only takes a few days.
