Oil pan bolt washer

need to put a copper crush washer on the bolt to help stop a leak. i've read in several places it's a size M14 washer. Vatozone's computer says its an M12. I'm going to pull the bolt and plug it with my finger while I put the washer on so I need to get right the first time. what size is it...M14 or M12?

M14 is the correct size washer I believe..

M14 typically uses a 21mm and m12 = 19mm for standard applications

I thought mine used a 19 mm ? I know I wrote it on my pan LOL

ok my oil pan bolt socket size is a 19mm

the actual crush washer I used has a 14mm hole and it works fine

so I imagine the parts store is correct and the washer has a 1mm gap all around the 12mm bolt ?

here's the M12 vs the M14.

now....retard question. does that blue plastic gasket go on there too or is it optional? if it does, which goes first....blue gasket agaist the pan then copper between that and the bolt, or copper washer against the pan then the blue gasket between them

Copper washer only on my truck as well. I had one of those plastic ones on my tranny pan and it leaked.

that's what i thought...but the 14mm is the skinny one from the pack i bought????

I would measure the inside and see if it's 14 mm ID I know that will work

or is that what you did ?
