Been fighting the oil standpipe line on my '03 for about an hour now. Tried using some needle nose and that won't work. Does any one have a different way to release it, or know the part number for the Ford tool before I start trying to see if I can sling a wrench thru the metal wall of my shop? :fustrate::mad::doh:LOL

does both the ends of that line and the early turbo feed lines...

I suggest not screwing up that line... Last time I ordered one it was like $165

If you have the little wrenches from a die grinder they will work to release the fitting if you don't have the OTC tool.

I've got one that fits the big end but not the small end, naturally.

No prob... looks like you got alot more to take apart before you get that head out of there, so it might be worth the wait for shipping.... Although, alot of local trucks are starting to carry 6.0 tools...

Make sure you are prying in the right spot too...

Those things can be a real pain sometimes, especially if someone has been in there before you and messed up the collar.

Next tense moment it removing the standpipe. Last set I did made about 3/4 turn before it broke free.

I ordered the tool but ended up getting it off with a Ford clutch tool that is pretty similar but just a little bigger. Worked fine though and apparently most local parts stores carry 'em.
