Oil Temps

What should be a normal temp for our engine oil? I have a 203 stat and had a scanner hook up and the oil temps went up to 203 is that right with the 203? I have Joey's 180 that I will try. What is to HOT?

With a stock* thermostat im seeing 210ish oil temps just driving around.. highway driving im seeing high 220's-230

Just wondering what oil temps should be . Some say get rid of the 203 stat.. Its not good for our engine.

Have you looked to see how high your temps go when working the motor harder? I need to do some checking as I now believe the scan gauges read oil temp a little low.

If you have a 203 thermo then with the oil cooler, the hotter the coolant the hotter the oil.

Your oil temps are perfect and IMO it would be a negative to change to something that will cause your temps to come up slower and not to the same level. 195-230 is a good range for temps depending on load.
