just finished doing studs, now i have a p0281 code #7 contribution/balance Power cylinder, and a thump in the idle. Only ran it for a couple minutes. From what i see everything is plugged in an hook up correctly.

this be a bad injector, or possibly bad wiring or connection?

thoughts?

If it was wiring you would get a circuit code. Are you sure you got the push rod in right or forgot to tighten the glow plug? It may seem stupid but you would be surprised how often it happen. I would pull valve cover and rail to inspect.

Got the passenger side cover pulled yesterday come to find two of the bridge pieces on the valve springs on the back two cylinders fell off. A broken rocker arm, replacement should be in Tuesday and trick back together... Glad I found this befor anything got worse. Push rods and rockers in all other cylinders looked good.

got the truck started last night, the thump is gone, still a slight hiss comming from the exhaust, cant hear it from under the hood, only when in the back by the tip...still have the
p0272 code, truck needs some oil. Tonight il pull the driver side cover, take a look, but il add the oil, and reseat the injector harness first. Hopefully that will clear this all up.... any other thoughts?

Have you checked ficm connections? I would think a loose harness there would throw more codes but I guess it's an easy thing to check..

checked the ficm quickly, votages are all good...didnt mess too much with unplugging and re hookign up....gona pull the driver side cover tonight and check all connections...hope its just the injector harness, and lack of oil....it idles real rough also, but i have only had it running for a couple minutes so im sure the air in the lines is still an issue as well.

It'll take a while for the idle to smooth out and get all the air-pockets out of the oil rails.

ended up pulling the driver side cover, found the lower valve bridge was slightly off (almost un noticably off), pulled the rocker, reset the bridge...truck fires right up, runs and idles as it should. No codes (other than a FICM harness code, which i just have to reseat the connection) thanks for the help guys...done many of these stud jobs in the past, this one had me head scratching for sure
