Hello, I'm new here, I've been searching this forum but didn't see anything on this topic. My PCM crapped out in my 2000 Ex, my question is, there is one available from a 2000 F350 near me, as long as the engine and trans are the same will this PCM work in my Excursion?

Does your Ex have a glow plug control module or glow plug relay? If it has the relay, then a L99-01 Federal Super Duty PCM (DPC-422) will work. If it has a glow plug control module, then you will need a PCM from a L00-01 Excursion, or L99-01 California Super Duty (DPC-452).

Good point, I knew there was something different on the EXES. Don't catch Dave in a mistake very often. In fact, I think this is one since I have heard of Swamps.

I think some 01s were the first year. We have a 01 EX in right now with a gpcm anyway, but I can't say for 100% that some 00s didn't have them either.

To many little changes on some of the Cali models etc...

Very strange... That is a hybrid early and late 1999 California PCM. Also a really early model 2000 Excursion could have that.

It should have the glow plug relay with a shunt on it (just like the Cali model 1997 trucks had).

You can actually use tunes for a DPC-422 on that though with some modification to the relay.

LOL

I always have to think twice before responding to PCM code questions. Soooo many combinations out there...

BTW, Late 2000 and 2001 model Excursions had the GPCM, and a DPC-452 PCM code. Same as 2000-2001 Cali model trucks. The EX codes were AXD and EBM, respectively.

If I'm able to get this F350 PCM will I have to get it flashed for my X? Also Oreilley"s has the same reman(dpc-432) for $250 but its unprogrammed, is there any companies that will flash it without the vehicle? The dealer by me wants it installed and delivered to flash it and I would rather not load this beast up if I don't have to.

We can flash it.

You can order the flash from HERE.
