My pops got a check engine light on his truck last week and got some codes for the EGR being plugged so he replaced it before I could tell him to just get rid of it. He says the truck seems to have a lot less power than before they replaced the EGR. Drove it today and it does seem to be down on power

The truck also cranks a little too long. Don't have my SCT with me so change check anything, but when I do have something I can monitor the vitals with what should I look at? Any ideas?

Noticed this as well. What could this be from?

It also made a really odd sound when it started with the remote start today. It cranked for a long time and then fired, then right after it fired it made a smacking sound almost sounded like metal grinding. Any input appreciated

It did look old. This was the first time I've looked under the hood so not sure how long it's been there.

Didn't do the work either so not sure if it was seated correctly. Is assume it was
