Well this happened. Motor is back at rcd to be gone through and have a new cam installed.

Yes I believe so. I don't believe there was an upgrade available when the motor was originally built

Okay, I haven't had any experience myself with the problem. But, I've heard that the aftermarket HD ones have more problems than the OEM ones. This could all be hearsay.

Had RCD go through the motor and replace the cam and lifters. I also went with delipped maxxforce pistons this time and a stage 2 RCD cam this time instead of the fly cut that I was previously running. It's been 1,000 trouble free miles.

I went with the Johnson lifters based on my experience with many of the other brands in engines we build. I also have the rcd 2 cam, so far so good, bought the truck blown up and built with all good shit so I can’t compare it apples to apples. Ran a colt stg 2 in my last truck which was a 6.0 truck, again lots of upgrades same time so no A/B testing.
