First don't fill to max line. That's actually over full. Fill to the min line.

Now verify you EGR cooler isn't the route cause.

What u need to do is verify your fan clutch works, verify your ECT and EOT are in range.

Test your cap and make sure it vents between 13-16psi

Install a pressure gauge in your coolant system and see how much pressure it builds. If it reaches the pressure at which your cap vents then its head gaskets

Slow start can be a number of things. Do u have anything that can be used to monitor different points? Are your batteries good? FICM holding around 48v KOEO, while cranking and KOER

i thought it was batteries also...

but my degas bottle is covered in dry coolant from where its been puking. i filled it back to the min line. i checked oil and it was fine.

i then finally started it and went to the tail pipe, and a little puff of white smoke came out

White smoke is not always a sign of blown gaskets... There is numerous reasons for that. Puked coolant can be from over filling degas bottle, or needing the updated cap as well. Pressure test ur coolant system ... Or get something to monitor ur EOT and ECT temps.

Also listen for a tea kettle sound on acceleration or slightly after. Mine was venting after a 2100 rpm acceleration

Where in nc are you? I may be able to help you in pinpointing this issue if you're not too far away
