Smoking from takeoff

I just bought this truck about a month ago, put a 4 inch downpipe back exhaust on it yesterday and now it's blowing grayish blue smoke at takeoff. Never smoked a bit before the exhaust. Could it just be burning crap out of the downpipe as I done away with the resonator with the exhaust install. Or should I be lookin for something more serious. It runs perfect and I just put 2 bottles of rev x through it about 1500 miles ago. It's only got 63k miles on it and is bone stock other than the exhaust. Any help would be great.

Easy way to get it out. For the "tool" pictured I used a welding rod, to pry just put a 2x4 on the cowl and pry with a broomstick or metal rod etc.

Very helpful, I'm going to pull it out this weekend and clean it up and see why happens. Also going to check my injectors and see what I come up with.

Other thing is how fresh is the oil? I know my buddies was smoking white, we cleaned his valve and he changed his oil and it quit doing it..

After dealing with a friends 6.0L with a white smoke issue, you will have to answer the question of; Does the white smoke vaporize pretty quick or does it linger around?

Go away quick = Water, linger = Oil or fuel

I'm far from an expert, but we pulled the EGR Valve and it was as dry as anything besides the accumulation of soot for the past 9 years.

It lingers around, I ruled out water vapor immediately. Ive been tinkering around and have traced it back to a sensor for the exhaust back pressure as of right now
