Well , just as it says who can do this and what device is most desirable to use ? Not interested in power for now just interested in removing the dpf and killing the urea usage.

And their stock option is just that , stock without the dpf?

I've been interested in one since I was looking at my buddies mini max on his d-max. Very nice little device I think. Last thing I had was a livewire , which I didn't care for because the back light quit on it. But most of all I was curious about the stock/deleted setting. I tow a lot. And in the summer in a lot of fields hauling hay out. Been kind of afraid of a fire and I know hours of idling can't be great on the dpf. Ok lol in just trying to justify.

Also , how does it work on these? Would it just be unhook the sensors and tie the wires up or would they go back on the new exhaust system like my 6.4 was back in the early days of dpf delete ?

just tie the wires.. no sensors required. you can reuse the sensors for egt sensors if you ever add a egr delete.

If you are removing the factory exhaust you can do egr blocker plates that will work great with the H&S tuner and you will be able to instal a factory exhaust sensor in one of the plates to get your EGT reading. It takes about 20 minutes to instal it and is easy to put back to factory (4 bolts). It will also help to keep soot from building up in the erg after the delete since it will be turned off already anyways.

^What he said. It's super easy, and took no time.

There must be something more to the H&S "stock" tune than meets the eye.

My truck is a 2013 and I've never got better than 11.4 mpg with all city driving. I hand calculate my mileage.

I installed my mini-maxx a few weeks ago and have been running it on the stock tune setting with the DPF on. My last 2 tanks have been 13.0 mpg, both by the fuel computer and hand calculated. This leads me to believe that while the H&S "stock" tune may have the same power as the Ford "stock" tune, there is a difference.

If the weather ever warms up, I'm going to install my delete pipe, Banks Monster muffler and EGR block-off plates. I will be using one of the DPF sensors, in conjunction with the port on the EGR plate to monitor my EGT's.

.

i assumed from day one you are correct, but it may just be the trans shifting honestly. but i do agree, the stock must have a bit more power than actual stock truck.

I would just purchase a mini maxx with delete capabilities and then just keep it on the stock setting until ur ready to go farther. Then its a simple as just pushing the button. It will help improve your fuel mileage. The sooner you get the dpf off the better. Just because you have the tune don't mean its gotta be turned all the way up. Although that is where you get ur best mileage. If so just keep your foot out of it.
