I asked a mechanic today if they were worth anything selling and all I got was a spill on I should of left it on because it will mess my motor up when towing heavy.

Totally, because not pumping soot back into your intake always hurts motors. And when the coolers rupture, that washes the pistons and dpf out, so they're like new again.

Yea. He said taking it off my egts were going to get to hot while pulling my fifth wheel.

did he realize that the ports where now plugged and that the exhaust gasses don't go back through the motor? i could see someone thinking that we would delete the cooler and run a open tube to the intake like a ccv... lol

That sounds like something that a parts changer would say, not a mechanic.
