Just about done rebuilding my turbo from my 6.0. Was having some surging, odd noses and had in out shaft play. Truck has 198k. I noticed this on the old thrust bearing assembly .

notice the groves in the old one. Is this Normal? I would assume not but I'm no expert. Other then that the rebuild is going pretty good.

Another question, the rebuild kit and the parts I pulled off the turbo are identical. So does that mean this turbo had been rebuilt? I ordered the 360* thrust bearing kit so I assumed it would look slightly different.

thats not a 360* thrust if it looks identical to the one with grooves on it.

Def not a 360* rebuild kit. I'd say the other thrust bearing is "normal" for the miles.

Ok thanks for the input fellas, I ordered this kit back whey I did the head studs. I could have sworn I got the 360 kit.
