I have an early 99 Longblock, that I bent a valve on. I pulled the motor with the intentions of doing a build on it, but ended up changing plans. I now need to get it back together and back in the truck. I have a set of heads that I want to swap onto it, will reusing the stock head bolts be ok? The engine has been in storage for about a year, what do I need to do to get it ready to go? I will be getting new head gaskets. Will be leaving it stock for now, just to get it back on the road.

I would get new bolts for it. More than likely they wont torque down right and you'll end up having head gasket issues and have to go through the whole process again.

One other thing, what should I do with the block that has been in storage after I pull the heads to clean it? Pull the pan and spray it down with a cleaner? It's been sitting about a year or so.

Dont disturb the pan seal unless you need to, a bad pan or leaking seal..

As far as the head bolts, if its a bone stock engine, i dont see a issue reusing the bolts. Sure they are torque to yield, but so are u bolts...
