Thanks i was hoping to be able to get at least 7500. It says in the owners manual 7500 under normal driving just wondering if anybody was actually going that far. I didnt want to pay the extra money for syn oil if i still needed to change it at 5000

For me I can just about tell the difference in the way the truck is running. After 5k it starts being "different". I have read plenty of posts on oil shearing, analysis, and "life expectancy" with the 6.0L. 7500 works just fine...10k is emergency situations (required travel, storms, etc etc)

This is my first 6.0 ive only had it for a few months. I changed the oil when i first got it with 15-40, it is now at 5000 miles on the same oil and compared to other trucks ive had the oil looks great. On other 7.3s and a 12 valve i had at this point the oil was black and Slimy not near as bad on the 6.0

I switched to Full Syn (Valvoline Blue Extreme 5W40) at 500 miles with a religious change interval of 7500. At about 50,000 miles I started getting injector stiction. I tried additives, which helped, but what really solved my problem was reducing my change interval to 5000 miles. Funny thing is that going back to Dino (15W40) didn't make the stiction return; I kept a 5000 mile interval and no sign of stiction. I did keep using additives, first Zync and then nano-Boron, which I'm sticking with; it's cheap when bought in quantity and works well for me.

For those of you running syn oils in 6.0s what kind of intervals are you doing between oil changes?

5,000 miles here.
Some Syn oil manufacturers recommend the same change intervals as conventional oil unless an extra filtration system is installed. Read the label etc. about that. With that said, you have the input of other forum members already.
