TBC Fault / Electrical Issue???

Hi I have a 2005 f350, and for the last while it has had an issue. Every time I start it up, it does the "beep" thing and the LCD says "TBC Fault". If I clear it once, usually it does not come back; however, sometimes when I'm driving it will randomly say "trailer disconnected", and I'm assuming this is all the same problem..?

Of course the dealer said it had to replace this, that, blablabla, and naturally (since it's a dealer) they want to charge out the @ss for it. Is there any way I can buy new OEM parts and replace whatever needs to be myself?

It drives me nuts!

Check your wiring out at the hitch, there is probably an open wire touching ground or shorted..
