they do look bigger than 44cc's...

but 44cc's would put you right around 16.5CR if correct (and the other engine/valve recess specs are near factory)

Thats why I bring it up, I have never seen bowls like that before! And they still have to have valve relieves cut into them.

Maybe its the flat shape that seems weird.

I agree, looks much more that 44cc ..

I found a picture of one of my 7.3 pistons that was cut, but I can't find the specs for it.. Just for comparison purposes anyway

I would love to see another picture of the first piston, but I cant find one.

What issues would it cause assuming its as large as it looks?

I've seen some fuel bowls with large radii like that before around the bowl on Dmax forums.... I believe it to be a case of "a little radius keeps it from cracking so a lot of radius must be better."

I can't think of a single application where I would want a fuel bowl with that large of a radius lip around the top. Sure maybe the loss in compression ratio - but I would go for a wider shallower bowl with a much more "crisp" transition from the piston top to the bowl.
