I was driving from post back to my house. Truck started acting funny and if I mashed the gas it would go into neutral. It would only do this in 3-4-5 gears. I stopped to fill up, and the town haul light started flashing and the truck wouldn't go into 4th or 5th. It's throwing a 0730 and a 2703. Could this be a bad solenoid or am I looking at a clutch?

Sounds like either the direct solenoid is dead or the direct clutches are smoked. Drop the pan, check the fluid and see how it looks.

Sounds like you cooked the direct clutches. Could possibly be the EPC solenoid. It provides fluid for all the other solenoids, so if it took a dump it would affect everything else as well.

I have the gogo solenoid and a Suncoast TC with a mag hytech pan..stock clutches. Tranny shifts better than ever without a problem. Im wondering if you didnt have a pre-existing issue somewhere.

I'm gonna say you had an existing issue and the new solenoid and clean fluid just brought into light. What kinda mileage do you have? It is common to have problems after changing REALLY old tranny fluid out.

We've got about 10 GoGo solenoids coming from Doug for our members and I fully expect no issues with the equipment, unless someone already has a problem. We're also setting up a wrench day at a local mechanic shop owned by one of our members so the guys with some experience can lend a hand on the install (even though it could be done by a retarded monkey) to the less experienced guys who still wanna get their hands dirty.

Had no problems before the install of the gogo.. Fluid was not burnt and still looked new.. Truck has about 120k on it and this was the second time i had changed the fluid.. First time was at 65k... So i dont know what caused the problem.. Not saying it was the solonoids fault either.. I ran the truck about 200 miles too after i changed the fluid and everything seemed normal...Just bad luck i guess

Ya im not disagreing one bit... The truck has been race tuned and driven pretty hard for over 100k miles.. So it maybe was just tired??? And besides the codes that came up were for Solonoid C... Isnt the gogo solonoid the Solonoid D???

Turns out i basically welded the direct clutches together. When I put the new fluid in it was the final straw. The gogo solenoid tests fine.

when my tranny started to go it would hesistate in reverse. it did that for a while and i never really payed attention. then i had the same issues you were talking about. i pulled the pan and in the sun the fluid looked like a candy paint with small flakes. i changed the fluid and added the gogo solenoid and all was good for about 2 weeks then the issues came back. dropped the pan and put fluid back in it again a second time, took the wifes car to look for trucks and the next time the truck drove anywhere it was to get traded.

i dont in any way blame the gogo parts and infact i wanted to keep the solenoid but for the simple fear that there would be issues with it since i knew there was metal in the fluid and they are finicky when trash is in the fluid i let it go with the truck
