It slams into reverse after about 5 sec. Doesn't do it in drive and doesn't slip gears. I'm so confused on what's goin on. Iv got to drive about 1.5 hrs for emt skills week and can't have it fail right now. Drives fine pick ups just fine.

The solenoid are located in the bottom of the transmission above the oil pan. Changing the oil may get rid of any crap or debris. Also verify that none of the connectors are loose or have wires that have worn thru the harness.

Check the large connector on the right side of the trans. Remove the bolt and unclip; make sure it is has not cracked behind the pins. If its cracked, then your issue lies there. The solenoids and gear range selector communicate through that connector.

It's starting to do that in drive too. Gears don't slip still. Little delay to overdrive. Forgot to mention just put act tuner sf3 on.

if it is recently tuned, the trans relearn can cause engagement delays and some funny shifts as well.

go for Steve's solenoid-you wont be dissappointed, as well as its cheap and easy. if you need pics check out my build thread http://powerstrokearmy.com/forums/showpost.php?p=698611&postcount=42
