Had this code pop up last week, truck was running good no hiccups so I cleared it and continued on. Two days ago put the truck in reverse and it rolled back about 10 ft and stalled out. Fired rite back up and continued on, today the code popped back up. Truck seemed to be surging at low RPM's, ran fine at higher RPM's. I know p228f is states the fuel valve regulator has exceeded its learning limits. Has anyone else had this issue? Truck has full deletes and h&s xrt pro, chip has been run on stock tune as of late and was never run full out on performance. Could it be as simple as a clogged fuel filter?

Had this problem, I replaced both the pressure switch and the control valve. Both are in the drivers side rail front and rear.

Powerstroke 22 seems like a simple enough fix, I'm assuming it cleared up after that? Would those be warranty items?

My truck has never been back to the dealer for anything so can't comment on warranty experience. I know a few other guys on here had a problem with this and some went back to the dealer, maybe they will chime in.

It did clear up in my case after that yes. I know some trucks popped this code and ended up having a problem with the VCV on the high pressure pump after the sensors in the rail was replaced.

So a clogged up fuel filter would be unlikely then, I spoke
To the tech yesterday and first thing that came to mind was when the last fuel filter change was. Also figured it could be the sensor or switch, all seem fairly viable. Truck seems to run strong at higher RPM's however I turned the chip down so maybe I'm not noticing a power drop since I was expecting it to fall off a bit with running stock tune.

Just got the P228F along with P008A yesterday. I'll start with ordering a fuel regulator valve. Been dealing with demons since installing my dual fueler. It's very odd how it will go a month or so and the all of a sudden I have low fuel pressure and then it will go away. Seems like hopefully it's a sticky regulator valve...
