this is my first post i have been just reading all the good info here,

the truck is a 2004 excursion and i had the veins stick in my turbo, I've had this happen before so i took the turbo off to clean the veins. when i got it apart there was some chips missing out of the exhaust turbine and some play in the shaft.
so i got a new turbo, garret gt3788va and installed it. started the truck and everything sounded good, then i test drove the truck and the vat duty cycle was at 85percent still with no change and my cts reads 0 boost.

what could cause the symptoms of stuck veins without the veins being stuck?

I'm in the process of checking that right now. Found it in another thread.
The tube is not clogged but the sensor looks to have some build up in it. I'm waiting on some sensor cleaner before putting it back together and trying it.

If I unplug the sensor the vgt duty cycle drops to 15% and the truck gets a real deep tone and no turbo sounds. My cts also isn't ready any boost with the new turbo but was reading boost before the swap.
Could I have cut a wire to domething in the process of the swap?
Thanks

cleaned the ebp sensor and reinstalled everything and the problem still exists

on the cts if i free rev it allele the vgt duty cycle drops to 79% but when it goes back to idle it goes to 85% and not move again

its probably a tune issue..i had this same exact problem when i switched to a kc 68mm turbo... matt at gearhead changed my tune to a non inferred strategy tune and noe th etrukc works wonderful. some trucks are just weird and react differently to a modified turbo.

Well i got it working last night, i think
i have been waiting on a new ficm powersupply from bullet proof diesel as mine was getting weak. when i was re-installing the ficm i noticed some oil coming from the top of the turbo.
the supply line seal was leaking so i went to ford and got a new seal and now the veins have been working,
the only thing i notice and don't know if its just from the bigger turbo but i still get the flutter coming from the intake when it is boosted and i let off. but the veins are cycling and it seems to be running like normal again.
thank you everyone for the help
