Truck was running fine before we tore it apart, never saw any signs of oil leaking. Did head studs, deletes etc.
Got it all back together and massive oil drip out of the dp-to-turbo connection.
Took up-pipes off and they are dry as can be.

So what is the most likely casue of the oil?
Bad seal inside the turbo let go? Easy to take apart and re-seal?
I don't know much about these VGT's...

Did you do a CCV on this??
if so is it restricting the vent??

CCV wouldn't in this situation, being that it runs into the compressor side then intake manifold. Since he doesn't have oil in the uppipes, I agree with Lance on this turbo seals probably oil coming from the turbo feed.

No ccv, all stock everything.
Cause of seals going? Or do they just blow from age, use etc? 114k, '04.

Anyone just replace the seals and have good luck?

if the oil is dripping out from the turbine, I'd think internal seals, not the oil feed line. you can buy rebuild kits and or you can just basically replace the center section.

My '04 was pouring oil from the turbo at 125K miles. I bought a garrett rebuild kit from gpop shop, it comes with the main oil seal and all the shaft bushings and thrust bearing. It's easier to do than you think and I'm at 215K and not leaked a drop.

Call them and give them your serial # off of your turbo. $100 if I recall.

Did the unison ring and vane cleaning while I was in there too.

I see the rebuild kits for these on ebay all the time for like $85 or $90 or so...

I'm sure some of our sponsors have them too. I know Riffraff for sure has them in stock.

If the vent is blocked it will push oil past the seals in the turbo. But since the ccv is stock that isn't it.

Ok, thanks all.
I am going to try to rebuild/reseal it and see how it goes.
Just sucks it's in a van, if it has to come out again. :(
